Moderate Water Endorsement - White Water Kayak
Course Description
This award is designed for coaches who hold a 4 Star Leader White Water Kayak Award and wish to introduce paddlers to the moderate water environment on grade 2(3) rivers.
After assessment you will be able to run progressive white water kayak coaching sessions in the moderate water environment. You should be able to apply your coaching skills, and safely lead and coach groups on the water.
The training is a one day course during which you will be taught how to coach skills on grade 2 rivers.
The assessment is a one day course during which you will coach and lead real learners on a grade 2 river.

Training Prerequisites
- Stamped Candidate Registration (CR) form (bring on the course).
- Bring Candidate Assessment Portfolio.
- Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport (bring original certificate).
- 4 Star Leader White Water Kayak Award (bring original certificate).
- 16 hour first aid award (bring original certificate).
- 18 years old.
- Coaching logbook containing evidence of:
- a minimum of 10 quality coaching sessions delivered in the sheltered water environment after achieving Level 2 Coach.
- a minimum of 10 quality trips led in moderate water conditions on grade 2(3) white water after achieving 4 Star White Water Kayak.
Assessment Prerequisites

- Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport (bring original certificate).
- 4 Star Leader White Water Kayak Award (bring original certificate).

- A minimum of 15 quality coaching sessions delivered in moderate water conditions and on grade 2(3) white water after Moderate Water Endorsement Training. This must include evidence of six progressive coaching sessions with session plans and reviews.
